The Ashland Bike Club is a social bike riding club dedicated to building community, getting some healthy outdoor exercise and just having fun. Everyone is invited to ride with our club whether you live in Ashland or not. You'll never meet a friendlier, more supportive group of people.

We host rides every Saturday and Wednesday morning over some of the most scenic roads in Metrowest. Both members and non-members are welcome to ride with us. Our rides are usually in the 20 to 30 mile range. Almost all rides are held on the roads although we occasionally visit bike paths throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Our rides are conducted at a comfortable, easy pace (ok, we admit it, we're very slow) because we seek to be as inclusive as possible. We do the best we can to keep the entire group together. No one ever gets left behind. On most rides, we have a moving average speed between 11 and 12 mph.

To support less experienced riders, we offer regular rides on the Upper Charles Trail (aka the Milford Bike Path) that allow you to choose any distance you like without having to ride alongside cars or ride up or down challenging hills.

To see information about our next ride, visit our "Ride Notices and Events" page to see the ride notices that are emailed to all club members two days before the next ride. They are also posted on our website.

Our club is first and foremost a chance for you to meet other bike riders and get out on scenic, well-designed routes. Some of our members also help us promote safer cycling and an enhanced cycling infrastructure including bike paths, bike lanes and other cycling facilities.

The current state of the bicycle infrastructure in Metrowest is deplorable and the Ashland Bike Club is committed to making things better for all cyclists. If you can you tell what's wrong with this picture, you might just make a great cycling advocate.

The club is deeply committed to bicycle safety. Safety talks are provided before every ride and our routes are planned to minimize the time we spend on busy roads. You might find it useful to read what Massachusetts law has to say about your rights and responsibilities as a cyclist. Click here for details.

Come ride with us! You'll be glad you did.

We plan to add a more extensive FAQ to this site very soon. We also hope to encourage member-contributed content including photo highlights of our rides and much more. Check back soon.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope you'll consider joining us on one of our rides.
