Ride 4
The Hopkinton State Park and Uhlman's Ice Cream Ride
This exciting trip begins at the Ashland Farmers Market, and will take us through the back roads of Ashland before climbing the hills into Hopkinton State Park. The longer ride will travel through the park and out the main entrance en route to Uhlman’s Ice Cream in Westborough, where the hillside cows will watch us devour our rest stop ice cream. After Uhlman’s, we’ll head east on Route 30 through Southborough’s quaint downtown and then along a causeway with water on both sides before crossing Route 9. We’ll wrap up with a twisty climb up Breakneck Hill, downhill past the Southborough Community Garden and along Oregon Road before returning to the Farmers Market in downtown Ashland.

The shorter ride will stay with the long group for 11.7 miles before we go our separate ways. The shorter ride will do a full, counter-clockwise loop through the park with a great rest stop at the picnic tables along the water’s edge. There’s no ice cream on the short ride but the park offers swimming and boat rentals for those who are interested in a little mid-ride diversion. The short ride will exit the park where it entered and return to the Farmers Market in downtown Ashland. The ride is just a little longer and a little hillier than usual so rest up, eat a good breakfast and bring your best treats for the rest stop.
